Not my best nail art, but it still suits the festivities. Happy Halloween! :D

Wedding Swans
One of my close friends got married over the weekend, and she had a small but very lovely wedding. She is the first of my friends to actually get married! I'm so happy for her ^_^ My gift to her was a pair of origami swans that I made. She has not yet received them, because we were in such a rush in the morning that I forgot to take the present with me! >.< But as she is moving to another city, I will be sending it to her. I hope she likes them! They would be a wonderful addition to decorating her new house :D

Windows Phone Competition Part 2
So since the end of last year, Microsoft NZ have been running lots of competitions in order to promote the new Windows Phones, as well as to gain more apps on the Windows Marketplace. After both winning in their first competition, my brother (Steven) and I entered as many of them as we could to try our luck. Our entries in the next few competitions were not as successful, but we still learnt a lot from the experience and kept entering their frequent competitions anyway.
But in their latest competition, we managed to both win top prizes again! We entered two new games, one under each of our names, and managed to score a Nokia Lumia 800 each! I'm sure you could imagine how stoked we were! We both already owned android Smartphones before these competitions, but now we have three each! That's crazy luck/skills! :P
But our smartphone story doesn't end there. We also entered a luck draw competition where we had to deploy a Windows Azure cloud computing app that directly contributes to Stanford University’s Folding@home effort. Somehow we both managed to get drawn as winners of a Nokia Lumia 710! At this point, I felt like our luck was super ridiculous, but was very happy to win a third time. What feels even more surreal is that both Steven and I keep winning as separate entries in the same competitions! Someone is probably sitting there thinking that we somehow rigged it lol :S But I assure you that we won fair and square :P

GERMAN SPARKLE PARTY
One of my friends decided to organise a girls night with the theme of "German Sparkle Party." For those who have no idea what that is, may I suggest watching this video to bring you up to speed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-jN3vH26NQ
Basically, it's a party where you dress in all things sparkly! We added a spin on the theme by adding random animal ears to our outfits to make it even more awesome muahahaha xD
So what do I do for the theme? Paint my nails in sparkly glitter of course! Behold, my glittery nails, all ready for tonight's awesomeness :D

Windows Phone Competition
Towards the end of last year, my brother had stumbled upon a competition that Microsoft NZ was running, which involved creating a mobile app for the new Windows Phone 7 OS. The prize was a smartphone that runs Windows Phone 7. After thinking it over for about a month, he decided to enter. Luckily for him, I am an awesome sister with a Design Degree, so he asked me to create the graphics for this little project. We ended up developing two very simple games to enter into the competition - one under my name and the other under his name.
There were four phones up for grabs for the four best apps, as well as some luck draw phones for everyone that entered. And as luck would have it, we both won two of the four top prizes! We were very surprised and stoked to have won not one, but two Smartphones!
My wonderful new phone, the HTC Surround, complete with a fold out speaker and stand :D
In game screen caps of the games that we developed for the competition: Pie Defender (Left) and Mr Snowman (Right).
